Guinea Boxing Federation Received Equipment from IBA in Preparation for the 2025 African Youth Boxing Championship
In anticipation of the African Youth Boxing Championship scheduled for April 2025 in Guinea, the International Boxing Association (IBA) has provided significant support to the Guinean Boxing Federation (FEGUIBOXE). The support includes a large consignment of boxing equipment valued at $19,000, comprising gloves, helmets, and wraps.
The official handover ceremony took place at the Sports Palace within the 28 September Stadium in Dixinn. The event was presided over by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and attended by key figures from the Guinean boxing community.
Lieutenant Alpha Amadou Baldé, President of the Guinean Boxing Federation and Vice President of the African Boxing Confederation, expressed his gratitude for the donation. He emphasized that this support is a result of strong relationships the national federation has built with regional, African, and international boxing organizations.
“This initial consignment, which arrived in October, was made possible thanks to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which facilitated the tax exemption process. I am also pleased to announce that the main consignment of equipment will arrive in January to further prepare and equip our federation for the upcoming African Youth Boxing Championship,” Baldé stated.
Baldé called on all stakeholders to intensify their efforts:
“I urge our technicians, coaches, and athletes to work tirelessly to make this event a grand success and ensure Guinea shines on this occasion.”
Salifou Aly Camara, Head of Sports at the Directorate of Physical Activities and Recreation, underscored the importance of infrastructure in the development of sports.
“Without proper sports infrastructure and equipment, there can be no sustainable growth of sports disciplines. The IBA’s support to FEGUIBOXE is timely, and I encourage the federation to utilize these resources effectively. Let’s prepare our athletes to win medals and make Guinea proud at this championship.”
With this new investment, Guinea is poised to host a remarkable African Youth Boxing Championship and showcase the rising talent in the sport.
