AFBC Announces Dismissal of Competition Committee Chairman Mr. Solomon Desmond

The African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) has officially dismissed Mr. Solomon Desmond Kargho from his position as Chairman and member of the Competition Committee.

This decision, made during the AFBC Board Members' Zoom meeting on 18 January 2025, follows findings of serious violations of AFBC regulations, including:

1.⁠ ⁠Participating in unauthorized meetings without the knowledge or approval of the AFBC.

2.⁠ ⁠⁠Unauthorized use of the official AFBC letterhead and stamp to circulate incorrect information to national federations regarding the African Youth Championship in Guinea Conakry.

3.⁠ ⁠⁠Intervening in the internal affairs of national federations without proper authority or approval from the AFBC.

AFBC President Eyassu Wossen Berhanu emphasized the importance of integrity in the organization, stating:
"While we recognize Mr. Kargho’s past contributions, his actions undermined the values and governance standards of the AFBC. This decision reflects our commitment to safeguarding the principles that guide African boxing."
