AFBC Calls for Strong African Representation at the 2025 Women's World Championships in Serbia
With the IBA Women’s World Championships 2025 set to take place in Serbia, the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) is calling on all National Federations (NFs) to confirm their participation and ensure strong representation.
So far, 55 National Federations have submitted their entries, but this does not guarantee their attendance. Proactive engagement is essential to ensure teams make it to Serbia.
AFBC urges all federations to finalize their participation and encourage their athletes to take part in this world-class event.
Currently, 19 AFBC National Federations are registered: Sierra Leone, Namibia, Cameroon, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Congo, Morocco, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Madagascar, Kenya, Zambia, Cape Verde, Tanzania, Lesotho, Malawi, Botswana, and Mauritius.
While financial challenges remain a concern, AFBC is committed to supporting African nations in maximizing their presence at the championships. The next week is crucial, and all federations are urged to actively push for confirmations and provide updates on their status.
AFBC will continue to coordinate with National Federations and monitor progress throughout the week. Updates on participation numbers will be shared regularly to ensure Africa’s presence is strong and competitive on the global stage.
For further inquiries and support, National Federations are encouraged to stay in close communication with AFBC.
