Nigeria Boxing Federation Distributes 500 Pairs of Gloves to Boost Grassroots Boxing
The Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) has officially launched the distribution of 500 pairs of boxing gloves to states and boxing clubs across the country. The event took place yesterday at the Old Skool Hall in the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, marking a significant step in supporting grassroots boxing development and preparation for the upcoming 22nd National Sports Festival in Ogun State this May.
The gloves were presented by the NBF Secretary-General. Also in attendance were NBF board members, state and club coaches, members of the press, and key boxing stakeholders. Coaches from Ogun, Enugu, Ondo, and several other states, as well as boxing clubs, received the equipment, which will aid in training and talent development across Nigeria.
The Nigeria Boxing Federation expresses its deep appreciation to IBA President Umar Kremlev and AFBC President Eyassu Wossen for their unwavering support in strengthening boxing development in Nigeria and Africa. Their commitment to grassroots initiatives continues to play a vital role in elevating the sport across the continent.
This initiative underscores NBF’s dedication to providing essential resources for young boxers, ensuring they have the tools needed to compete at the highest level. The federation remains committed to fostering talent and expanding the sport’s reach nationwide.
