AFBC Youth Boxing Championships Set for May in Guinea; IBA to Host International Technical Official Certification Course

The African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) is proud to announce that the African Youth Men’s & Women’s Boxing Championships will be held from May 16 to May 26, 2025, in Conakry, Guinea. The event promises to gather the continent’s most talented young boxers for an exciting showcase of skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

In a major development, the International Boxing Association (IBA) has also announced that, alongside the championship, it will conduct an International Technical Official (ITO) Certification Course. This initiative aims to further strengthen the quality of officiating across Africa by providing participants with world-class training and certification opportunities.

AFBC President Eyassu Wossen expressed his excitement about the upcoming championship and the partnership with IBA for the technical course, noting it as a significant step in developing the sport across the continent.

The competition and course are expected to draw wide participation from national federations and aspiring boxing officials, contributing to the growth of African boxing on the global stage.
