Gaolatlhe, Glorious TOPO: A Trailblazing Female Figure in Botswana Boxing

Gaolatlhe Glorious TOPO, a distinguished female referee and judge, has made an indelible mark in the world of boxing in Botswana. Since joining the sport in 2004, TOPO has become a respected leader, admired for her unwavering dedication and professionalism.

Her career began as a referee and judge, and she soon earned prominent roles within the sport. From 2007 to 2010, she served as the Secretary of the Referees/ Judges (R/J) Commission, later being re-endorsed by the National Boxing Association from 2011 to 2014.

TOPO's excellence has been widely recognized. She was nominated for the Debswana Boxing Awards on three occasions, showcasing her impact on the local boxing scene. In 2012, she officiated at the African Zone 4 Championship in Zambia, earning the title of National Best Judge of the Year. That same year, she was honored with the Debswana Boxing Award for Best Judge of the Year.

In 2019, TOPO's dedication earned her the title of Best Referee at the National Championship. Currently holding the prestigious Star One referee/judge status, she is recognized as a continental-level official.

TOPO also holds a Diploma in Management of Olympism, further strengthening her expertise in the field. Her remarkable journey continues to inspire future generations of female referees and judges in Botswana and across Africa.
